We like to try different experiences and learn new things.

The only limit is our members' imagination.

You can be certain there will be a lot going on in Tangent at any time and you can dip in and out of as much or as little of it as you like.

Local Clubs usually meet once a month, but some meet more frequent and some may take August off. To be honest, you name it and we do it or more to the point we will join you in doing it. The great thing about Tangent Clubs is you have a bunch of friends to join in and do things with you. If you want to see photos from past events, please check our News & Gallery.

In summer it could be a walk or a picnic or even a garden party. In winter you may find us helping out with the local Santa float round the local community, learning how to make Christmas wreaths or sipping mulled wine and putting the world to rights.

There is usually a mix of being out and about in restaurants, cinemas etc and also at home or in a function venue. We like to try different experiences and learn new things, sometimes we have a speaker and sometimes we could be wine tasting. The only limit is our members' imagination.

Our Clubs have been very creative during this current challenging period and are meeting in smaller groups where local rules and guidelines allow but have also embraced modern technology and are Zooming.

All our local Clubs belong to a region and once a year there is a regional lunch where it is lovely to meet friends and make new ones from further afield. Then there is National when we have Conference and our AGM. Beyond this there is International and the opportunity to travel and attend meetings and events abroad and make friends from further afield.

Every year, The National Association of Tangent Clubs holds its flagship event, a joint conference with fellow 41 Club members. The National Conference is open to all our members to attend and usually happens in April.

The event, which is attended by hundreds of members from both Associations, takes place over 3 days and not only includes our Association’s Annual General Meeting on the Saturday but a black-tie dinner, final night fancy dress party and an opportunity to visit places and attractions within the local area. It is a fantastic opportunity to extend your friendships beyond your local Club and let your hair down with fellow members of our Associations. It is also a great opportunity for our members not only to be part of an event which is built on fellowship and friendship but also take part in our AGM giving members a better understanding of our Association.

Some of our Tangent Clubs will have joint get togethers with their local 41 Club during the year or with our younger 'sisters' in Ladies Circle and some will also include Round Table as a meeting of all 4 Clubs or as we call it the Round Table Family.
